Areas of Competition:

Beauty-Contestants compete in pageant gowns on stage for the Beauty competition.Age 3-8 may wear heirloom or pageant dress of their choice. You may wear long or short and makeup is allowed. Age 9 & older will compete in full length pageant gowns.Scoring is 30%

Photogenic-You may submit one photo of your choice. It may be color or black and white. Photos must be no larger than an 8x10. Please have your photo in a clear page saver labeled with contestant name and age. Scoring is 10%

Sportswear-This is a fun competition. The only requirement is that the outfit must feature some percentage of cotton in the fabric. We provide up beat music for this competition and modeling is free style. You may use props such as hats, sunglasses, purses, etc. Just remember to show personality and choose eye catching. Scoring is 30%

On Stage Question-Each contestant will be asked an on-stage question. This will count for 30 % toward the final score.

We are for this year only, going with on-stage questions in place of interviews. We are also combining the Alabama and Florida Cotton Pageants into a one day eventBy doing this we will be limiting the number of contestants per division per pageant.

There will be separate pageants for the Alabama and the Florida Pageant. You may not enter both. You must choose which title you wish to compete for.

We invite you to take part in the 2009 Alabama & Florida Cotton Pageants. The deadline to enter is December 31, 2008. Contestants will compete in all events listed above.

Also with the high prices of gas-we are cutting the entry fee to $75. (This is an additional $25 discount from earlier.) By doing this, we are having each contestant purchase a $25 gift card from a well-known store. The gift cards will be awarded to the Queen in each division. The number of entries in her division will determine the number of gift cards a Queen wins. Imagine winning a handful of gift cards to head out on a Shopping extravaganza. This is just another way we try to make the AL & FL Cotton Pageants a fun event for our contestants.

There will be a Queen and two alternates selected in each division. We will also present awards for On-Stage Question, Sportswear, and Photogenic Winners. By cutting the cost of the entry fee we will not place a float in the Peanut Parade but we will attend other events and work on several projects throughout the year.

There will no longer be a pratice date but stage pattern will be placed on the website.

Sportswear competition is always a fun event. You may wear the outfit of your choice and props are allowed. The only stipulation is that the outfit must feature some percentage of cotton in the fabric. The modeling is free style and we provide upbeat music for this competition. Please show personality! We have seen some of the cutest outfits in the competition over the past few years!

Photogenic entries will be judged on the day of the pageant. You may enter one picture clearly marked with your name and age division in a clear page saver. The photo may be color or black and white. You may enter any size up to an 8x10. These are to be turned in at registration.

We do allow the girls to wear make-up however please be age appropriate!

You will need to email a photo for the website once you have entered the pageant for our contestant page. Jpeg format is preferred. If you are unable to email a photo please mail a photo in to us and we will scan and post on the website. Your photo will be returned at your interview.
